Altered Bottle

Hello everyone, Debs here with my second piece for this months Challenge, 'use a bottle'

Art Doll

I chose to use the bottle to support my doll. I have wanted to make a doll of some kind for a while, so here goes. I used a fabric stiffner for the clothes and polymer clay for head and hands. All was painted with Fresco Acrylics and then highlighted with Treasure Gold in a couple of colours. The bottle is great shape for this style of doll. please visit my blog for all the details.

See you all soon Debs xx

Debs has gone all out 'flowery'...

Hello dear Friends,

This morning we have a second contribution from our new DTM, Debs.  She has decided to motivate us with both colour and contemporary imagery - what a beauty!

Hello everyone, Debs here with my second Summertime project which is inspired by my own garden and all the lovely blooms we have this year.

This is an 8x8 canvas which I have collaged first before adding all the blooms so lots of texture. Lets see what has inspired you....

Take Care Debs xx

This is gorgeous Debs!  Whether you're a lover of the more modern imagery, lover of the more vibrant palette, this is a fabulous example of our theme - great work, thank you!

So, what are you all waiting for, let's get busy!!

Have a great day and good luck!

Brrrrr! It's August?

Good morning dear Friends!

Here in the UK we've had a really cold couple of weeks and we're feeling it too!  Despite that, we're looking forward to warmer weather and are still totally motivated and looking forward to August's challenge.  The theme for this month has been chosen by our lovely Alison (aka butterfly) and this is a topic that ALL of you can join in with!  It is...

We're hoping that, by now, you'll all be aware of our rules but if not, you can find them here.  Everyone has a chance of winning the £20 shop voucher, generously contributed by our sponsor, Country View Crafts, because we select our winner at random using random.org.  We encourage and welcome all to participate, from beginners to those that have been crafting for years, we also like to see ALL types of crafting from cake making to quilting, from knitting to pure art, from papecrafts to home decor - if you craft then you qualify - please join us!

It's no secret that I love meadow grasses and flowers, but it's only in recent years as my hayfever has died down that I've really been able to enjoy them to the full.  I love the idea of a dreamy summer's day spent drifting through meadows, brushing the tops of the grasses with my fingertips, and that's what inspired this card made for a friend's summer birthday.  Come and visit Words and Pictures to see more details.

It's August and hopefully we will get some lovely warm sunny days so we can sit out in the garden or go for some inspiring walks. It was thinking about the garden, the grass and flower borders that inspired my tag for this challenge. Lots of green with a splash of colour and some remnant rubs. I'm looking forward to seeing what inspires you for this summertime challenge.

This is a card, one with a dfference, and made using a Tattered Lace exploding box die.  I've used stamps and dies from Hearfelt Creations and Tim Holtz inks and dies to colour the embellishments as well as his stamps and dies for the butterflies.  You can find the step x step on my blog.  Chris xxx

Hello everyone, are you enjoying your Summer? as I write this the children are on their last day at school and parents are preparing for those long hot summer days at the beach or country walks. but if like me you are working everyday then we have to bring the summer indoors to our screens. For my project I wanted to capture some of those elements that you see in Summertime like the blue skys, rain, and bright gardens. lots of brayering and use of Acrylic Ink. Im really looking forward to seeing what your summertime project will look like. Take Care Debsx

Hello..... I hope I am bringing some sunshine your way with my first

The joy of warmer weather means that summer is here and there’s something special about the UK in the summer! This month’s theme puts me in mind of bucket and spade summer holidays at the beach! Jo Firth-Young’s stamps are just perfectly evocative of these holidays and I have used them a lot this month! For my first project for the new Country View Crafts Challenge this month of Summertime I have made a tag. The beach hut opens up! As always, there's more on my blog including what's inside my beach hut! Gabrielle x

Blousy Cabbage Rose Blooms using the Tattered Florals Die.  I have fallen in love with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink all over again! Meet our new faces...

Good morning everyone!

Last month we saw Donna leave us for pastures new and, sadly, we'll be losing Sue B (scrumplescrunch) too at the end of this month.  It's always sad to see our lovely, talented DT Members leave us but that is the way of Blogland - life, family and new opportunities call out and pull us in all directions.  The only upside to these sad times is that we have the opportunity to have new talent join us so today we're introducing THREE new team members to you - here they are, alphabetically...

Hello everyone, I'm so excited and thrilled to be here. The theme this month is 'On Your Travels' and was chosen for us by the lovely Trace

So for my first post I'm sharing a postcard. It is a bit battered as it's been travelling around the world. It's become grubby and difficult to read, and some of the paint, used to cover the original picture has peeled off, but it has survived. Please visit my blog to see how I created this card.

See you all soon Hugs  Debs xx

For the July Challenge of the CVC I have brought a mixed media board. It was an old chalk board in the attic and I decided to alter it for the challenge, called: On your travels.

I live in Luxembourg, in a a tiny little country that is actually a Grand Duchy (hahaha!). So from here you can easily go to London, Paris or Rome. It is not a big deal!

If you would like to know how I made this board, please go to my blog where you can find a quite detailed tutorial. Thanks a lot, Monika

Hello there! I have been busy making a file folder on the theme of travel - when I first saw the theme I knew I wanted to use all of the stamps from the time travellers set from Stampers Anonymous so I thought a file folder was the best was to get all the the stamps in play! It reminds me a little bit of a travel document wallet complete with luggage labels. You can see the full details on my blog here. Thanks for looking! Rachel xx

These are gorgeous projects Ladies, well done, a great debut - thank you!

We know what a great and supportive bunch of followers we have so we're sure that you will want to join in with the rest of our team and welcome our new DTMs into the fold - WELCOME LADIES - we're looking forward to working with you!  >:o)

We're half way through the month folks so if you haven't joined in yet have a think about what you might enter.  If you've entered already, well, you can still enter again, lol!

Doreen will be here on Friday, don't forget to join us then.

Have fun!
