Happiness blooms from within
This month's challenge theme of Flower Power is terrific as there are so many ways you can incorporate flowers into your art. I made a page in my journal and used the idea of a jam jar filled with flowers as my central image. The colours are all complementary meaning that the yellowy orange flowers really pop out from the background. Thank you for joining me today and I hope you enter our challenge for the chance to win a great prize. Gabrielle x

Powerful Flower
Craftyfield here today with a single bloom... alone yes, but strong!
In complete contrast to my first inspiration piece I used only one flower for this card, but a big one to create, I hope, a powerful image. Do come over to see the details on my blog!

Flower Power #2
Hi it's Brenda here from Bumblebees and Butterflies and here I am sharing my second project for the Flower Power challenge and I promised you the finished journal to the covers I showed you on the 1st May. This was them.
I took the first set of panels (the design on the left) to make this finished piece .....
... and all the details of how I made the journal itself are on my blog today.
Grab a cuppa on the way over as there are lots of photos and steps for you to peruse if you have time.
I hope you are enjoying the challenge and have been able to pop over and took a look at the inspiration projects from the design team.
Have fun.

___________________________
Hello dear followers, today it´s time to choose the winners of our April challenge!
Although there were not as many entries as in the challenges before, the ones who through in their hat did a really fantastic job! It was hard to pick out only three of them!
But here they are in no particular order:
#2 - Laneen
Evelyn said: Laneen created a gorgeous male layout in a grunge style. The rusty bits and bobs are fitting perfect to the vintage photo of James Dean!
#17 - Jan
Evelyn said: Love this book cover to bits! I would love to touch the surface with all it´s texture. The rust is looking so very elegant here and the blue night sky pops out beautifully.
#30 - Toni

Evelyn said: Another gorgeous layout with loads of rust goodness! There are so many fabulous details, you nearly can´t stop looking at. The photo of the "machine man" rounds off the overall picture.
Evelyn´s choice for the Design Team Member's Special Mention this time even goes to two completely different entries, but both catched her eyes so much, that she didn´t want to leave one of them behind:
#7 - Lys

Evelyn said: What a fabulous and unique idea to alter an USB stick! Lys created an absolutely stunning tiny little piece of art with gorgeous rustiness. Love it!
#31 - Kristina

Evelyn said: This invitation card is so very elegant, although it is so simple! I love, how the created rust comes into focus.
And don't forget there is still lots of time to enter our May Challenge - Flower Power

May 2017 - Flower Power
Welcome everyone to our May Challenge.
Our theme this month is "Flower Power", chosen by the lovely Monika
Hello everybody, it's Monika
the hostess of the May challenge
It's said: "April showers bring May flowers."
So it's time for the flowers and for the floral creations.
You might know that I like to make home decorations. For our May challenge I've created two flower wreaths - a pink and a blue one - with felt flowers. I wanted to show you how easy to make home decorations with Sizzix dies and not just with Bigz dies but with Thinlits dies too. For more details, please click on my blog.
For the Flower Power project I made a wall hanging, combining the rust of last month with the flowers of this month to create a bird cage. It been ages since I last did any die cutting and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed sending a piece of card though my machine only to see it turn into leaves or flowers at the other end! There's a close up photo and a description of how I made this on my blog. Gabrielle x
One of the most difficult part of designing this card was to chose the stamps to use! Flowers are a fail safe image for cards and I have a lot to chose from... Come over to my blog to see how I made my floral card.
I've been playing with the Tim Holtz Floral stencil and I've created two sets of panels for when the new Eileen Hull journal comes into stock (hopefully very soon). The panel on the left was made using distress oxides and the stencil as a stencil and using the ink left on it, spritzed with water as a monoprint. The second panel on the right was created using the monoprint technique only. I won't leave you hanging, so for more details pop over to Bumblebees and Butterflies and you'll find out when I can show you the finished journal.
Happy May day, wow the year is racing by but May is one of my favourite months of the year. I was delighted when our lovely Monika chose "Flower Power" as our theme this month. May really is the month of flowers and I chose to make 2 floral tags. I am sharing the first one today made with regular Distress Inks.
If you would like to see how I made my flower power tag do pop over to my blog here where a very fragrant warm welcome awaits you. I will be back to share my Distress Oxide version of this later in the month. Enjoy the bank holiday and I really hope that you get some time to get inky.
Bye for now,

It's the style

Hello everyone, I've gone a bit Steam Punky for my last project for this months theme, of Rust. I altered this plaque which was originally white, into a fitting board to showcase this lady with attitude. As always the details are on my blog, and I love you to visit.
Take care hugs
