August 2021 - Monochromatic

Welcome to our August Challenge. This month is Monochromatic chosen by the Debs

Hi Everyone, its my turn to pick the theme this month and I've chosen an old favourite of Monochromatic. Please visit my blog to see
How this tag came together.

Oh what I would give for a swim with those dolphins!
Do come by my blog to see how I played with them...

Summer is speeding on and here we are in August already. For the "monochromatic" challenge theme this month I went with shades of orange for my first make.

I do love butterflies and this Visible Image set is awesome. If you would like to see how it all came together just flutter  pop on over to my blog here where all is revealed.

Enjoy the summer holidays and take care.

Good morning and welcome to August. For our monochromatic challenge I've gone with purples for my purple mad niece (who's now 19, I've no idea how that happened!)

If you would like to pop over to my blog there are more photos there of how this came together.

Take care and have a very happy month x

Happy August,

Here is my first project for the Monochromatic challenge

I can see why you would be inspired by Janes colourway, the salvaged patina looks fantastic against the glimmer of the copper. What a stunning card Debs with so much attention to detail given to bring those die cut flowers to full bloom. Stunning. Creative wishes Tracey x

May Winner, Top 3 and DTSM

Hello everybody! Here are our May Winners.  There were some really fabulous entries and we always love seeing what you're inspired to make by each theme.  Are you sitting comfortably?  Then let's begin!

The May winner of the £20 Country View Crafts voucher, selected by Random Generator from the challenge entries is

May's challenge, hosted by Craftyfield, was "We will always have Paris". Here is what she thought:

Well... my choice of theme was not popular with everyone but, the ones who took the challenge were particularly inspired and some of you even entered multiple times. You have enjoyed finding old stash and retrieved photos to create wonderful art. To me you are all winners and it was hard choosing just 3!  But here goes... my Top 3 in no particular order:

Entry 26 - Joan:

I loved this combination of stamps which perfectly illustrate our theme.

Entry 24 Linby :

Do visit Linby's post to see more of this lovely keepsake documenting her trip to Paris, lots of stamping, photos and ephemera give it a real life feel. Linby also had another great entry (no 16) with a Paris fashion theme.

Entry  21 Matilde

A lovely journal page with 2 ladies of Paris who both have inimitable style, the iron lady (no not that one!) and Coco Chanel. Matilde demonstrates that with a bit of imagination you don't need a lot of supplies to capture the essence of Paris!

Finally my Special Mention goes to Vee who created a page on the theme of Love, which remind us that Paris is one of the most romantic city in the world! Vee's detailed and cute die-cut is complemented by Tim Holtz supplies, but no grunge in sight!

Thanks to all of you for playing with us, I enjoyed seeing all your makes and reading your posts!

Fantastic work all around!  Congratulations - your badges will be on their way soon, and we hope you'll display them with pride and don't forget to join us in our August Challenge xx

Using one stencil

 Hi everyone, it's Jo here.

Today I'm sharing an art journal page for this month's Use a Stencil (or two) challenge, which I created using the same stencil a few different ways.

Firstly, I applied some crackle paste through the stencil, then some Distress Ink and finally I used the stencil like a stamp by covering it with ink and pressing it onto my page.

To see how it all came together and a full list of products, please pop over to my blog Let's Art Journal.

Thanks so much for joining me today! Hugs, Jo x

Good morning and happy July everyone. Summer will be getting into full swing now and hopefully tea, cake and chatter outside in the sunshine will be the order of the day. For my first make I used my Tea party stencil and invited the Cheshire cat.

Guest Designer - Brenda Brown

We've had lots of Designers wanting to wish us Congratulations on our 100th Challenge and we are going to share their projects with you all and hope it gives you more inspiration to join in.

Today we have the lovely Brenda Brown. We chose Brenda for the last Designer as Brenda was one of our very first Designers on our very first blog post back in March 2013. A friendship I hold dearly and still admire her creativity and always love her projects and Brenda will always be our favorite Tutor of our in store workshops

Hello everyone it's Brenda with you today to finish off this fabulous celebration for Country View Crafts 100th Challenge. It's such an amazing milestone and a huge credit to Susan and the team keeping the inspiration going for everyone. I was absolutely delighted when Susan asked me to do a project as I opened the very first challenge back on the 1st March 2013 and I'm delighted to be back to finish off this month's celebrations

I've been privileged to be associated with Susan, the CVC Design Team and the blogs in a number of capacities and teaching workshops has been my absolute love. I've taken time out of crafting for the past couple of years but I'm looking forward to designing and providing more workshops when we finally get back to normality and feel safe again.

In the meantime, I hope you like my Time Machine collage that has jumped 100 challenges and I hope to see you all again soon.

Hugs Brenda xx
