August 2017 - Blues and Greens

Welcome everyone to our August Challenge.
Our theme this month is "Blues & Greens", chosen by the lovely Corrie

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my Challenge. For this month's theme I chose one of my favourite colour combinations: greens and blues. I would love to see you create something in these colours and don't forget you could just win a GBP 20,- voucher to spend in the shop !

I you'd like to know how I made this then hop over to my BLOG and I'll tell you all about it!
I will be back in a few days with another project !

"Blues and Greens" - what a beautiful colour combi!
Okay, I decided to add some red too, but  this makes the blue/green background pop out even more I think.
For my first project this month I made a Fantasy card. I had so much fun! If you want to know how it came together, please visit my blog.
Have a wonderful holiday month!

Well, it's birthday season again around here, so it's back to the craft room for me - cloud bathing was getting a little bit boring anyway!

You can't beat a little bit of Tim Holtz when it comes to a 'guy card', and I've teamed his stamps with his stencils, inks, and dies. More details can be found here at Sue The Iron.
Thank you, Corrie, for the fun challenge, and have a fun week everyone! x

I've been having fun layering up some blues and greens media paints to create a mixed media background and a panel for the cover of a new journal I am in the process of making.

If you'd like to see how the layers unfold I would be very pleased to see you at Bumblebees and Butterflies where I have the process steps and more photos to go with the details.
Thanks for this great theme Corrie I have always loved blue and green together but I just don't use them that often, so it was lovely to play with them again.

A glasses case is a useful gift idea and also great way to get your crafting skills seen by lots of people, unwittingly advertised by your gift recipient....!

Come and read the details on how I made this and see more pics on my blog !

I love the colour combination of blue and green (green is my very favourite colour!) and often use them together. For this month I wanted create a layered look from the image to the tag to the background allowing the colours to be distinct and also harmonious by carrying the leaf stamp across both. i'm looking forward to seeing how you interpret this month's theme. Gabrielle x

Blue and green are 2 of my favourite colours so I was delighted with Corrie's theme for August. There is so much scope for inspiration using these colours. I have made a male and female card this month..this is the male one today. I have all the details and a step by step if you would like to travel pop over to my blog here. I will share my female card later in the month. Enjoy the summer holidays and your summer crafting 😎.

Bye for now,

Blue and green should never be seen, is something that resonates from my childhood! Pop over to my blog for details of my journal page.

Use Your Wings

For my second project this month following our really fabulous theme of Things with Wings I made one of Tim Holtz' fabulous houses.
I used PaperArtsy paints for the background of the house and a selection of images and Ideaology to decorate it.
There's some dictionary paper on the roof that I distressed. I added a butterfly to the back to add another set of wings!
Thank you, as always, for popping by and I hope you have joined in with us this month.

Hello crafters, Craftyfield here with this unseasonal offering...

Do you get the feeling this robin is wondering how it stumbled in this July post?

Still, the most organised crafters among us know Christmas cards are a marathon, not a sprint, and are already on the case... If you want to get ahead (Christmas card wise) come and check my blog.

Things With Wings challenge

It's Brenda here with you again today with my second sample for the fabulous Things With Wings challenge hosted by the lovely Jane.

I have used a background I made for a technique post on my blog and added a beautiful Tim Holtz butterfly and sentiment. Although it looks as though it shouldn't have taken me too long to do, it actually took me all morning to get the butterfly and substrate right and that's with the background already made - what am I like!!!! If you'd like to see all the details do mosey on over to Bumblebees and Butterflies, I'd love to see you pop in. xxx

This was such a difficult challenge to choose my favourites as the standard was amazing and the styles so varied. I started off with 11 choices which I begrudgingly had to whittle down.
In order of numbers
#9 Jannet
Such an emotional journaling page, so personal and unique. The message is clear and the images tell the sad story but point out the resilience of the human spirit!

#17 Svetlana
Svetlana has such an amazing talent for combining colour, texture and forms. Truly magical.

#65 Rossini
Rossini has created a masterpiece using simple objects that she has cleverly woven together and sprinkled with fairy dust. I just love it!

Special DTM mention goes to

#43 Melissa
Melissa keeps producing pieces for our challenges that are so spontaneously fresh and full of life. Her love for her art just shines through!

Fantastic work all around!  Congratulations - your badges will be on their way soon, and we hope you'll display them with pride.

On fairy wings

Good morning, it's Jane here with my second post for the "Things with Wings" challenge I am hosting here at Country View this month. For my first card I went with paper planes and this time I have gone to the fantasy world of fairies. I wanted some really hot summery colours so I got out my brightest distress inks to play with to make my fairy card.
If you would like to see how I made my little things with wings scene you will find a magical welcome over on my blog here. I am pleased you enjoyed seeing all my photos of things with wings on Saturday...I have some more today to share on my blog..including a peahen with her chicks at breakfast..yes seriously.
I will be flying over visiting your blogs to see all your own lovely things with wings projects. Have fun and I look forward to seeing your makes.

Enjoy your summer days.

Bye for now,
