May 2018 - Be Humorous

Welcome everyone to our May Challenge
Our theme this month is Be Humorous chosen by the lovely Monika

Hello everybody and welcome to our May challenge:
Be humorous!
This time I had the opportunity to be your hostess.
So please show us your humorous side and create something funny that makes us laugh!

As a first inspirational project, I made a card with a super funny PaperArtsy Zinski stamp.
I hope you like it! You can find more details on my blog!

Sue
Good morning and happy Tuesday. I love this fun challenge that Monika has chosen, and as I didn't use my Grumpy Penguins last year, they're having their first outing.

I think this Dylusions sentiment sums them up perfectly! For more photographs please pop on over to my blog - I promise to be more cheerful than this lot!

Monika has had a great idea with the theme of humour - I thought I should put this not so skinny cook out there....he makes me smile for sure! Hope you can join the challenge! Hugs rachel x

For this theme, it isn't so much a matter of what I did, but whoooo...

Come by my blog to read up on the details. You'll have a hoot, I promise!

Miriam
Here is my entry for the challenge.

It really pushed me out of my comfort zone this month.  Join me over at my blog to see more about this project.
Happy crafting!

Welcome to the merry month May!
We were asked to be humorous, so I took a stamp with a fun sentiment and made this tag.

If you want to know, how I put this together and what the German words mean in English, please hop to my blog to see more.

I often use humour in my projects and I really love it.. I hope I succeed in giving you a chuckle today!

This AJ page was made with model paste and a stencil, spray inks and more. If you are interested in how I made this the you can watch the movie or hop over to my BLOG.

I hope you enjoy ! I will be back soon with more inspiration !

May time, play time (well that's what I always sung at primary school!) I love this month, everything is bursting into life and there is colour everywhere. For this month's fun "humour" challenge I used this sentiment on a new baby card.
It always raises a smile 😍
I made a yupo paper with alcohol inks background. I would love to see you pop over to my blog here where I am sharing the details of how I made this.....plus the answer to this joke awaits...How do you get a baby astronaut to sleep....? There might be a few more awful jokes over there too! 😂
Bye for now,

I love creating projects with a bit of humour - the new Tim Holtz Snarky Stickers are the perfect accessory...

Please pop over to my blog for all the details! Have a great day xx

We all hope these projects from our Design Team bring a smile to your face and it's over to you now, create your Be Humorous project and link it below with the chance to win a £20 voucher to use on the Country View Crafts website. Thanks to everyone who took up the Pimp It Up! challenge last month. There are lots of upcycled entries and the winner will be announced soon.

Guest Designer Karen

Hello everybody! We're delighted to welcome Karen from Karen's Crafting Obessions as our guest this month.  Karen won our challenge in December and today she's here with her take on this month's Pimp It Up theme.  You're going to love what she's created, so without more ado, let's hand over to her...

I have crafted in one way or another since childhood and I’ve learnt that I am one of those people that need to create or make something. I love creating home décor, mixed media canvas, journal pages and tags and I like to design and create cards. I’m learning to draw and paint from You Tube videos and online tutorials. I’ve tried different crafts: candle making, silk painting, glass painting, fabric painting, origami and sewing. These days I’m obsessed with mixed media products and techniques.

I decided to recycle three old paintbrushes that had damaged and broken bristles.  Originally I planned to bin them until the idea for this project popped into my head.

I painted the pallette with white gesso then added circles of texture paste with a stencil because I wanted it to look like there were puddles of paint on the palette.  Once the texture paste was dry I coloured each circle with a different colour of acrylic paint.  I attached a Tim Holtz stencil and added the wooden grain detail with Vintage Photo Distress ink pad and dried the ink.

I glued the three tatty paintbrushes together and gave them two coats of gesso before painting with white acrylic.  Once they were dry I added matt medium to the bristles where were rough and dipped them into glitter.  I used another MDF piece which I coated with gesso and then painted before stamping the sentiment onto it.
I then glued them together.

A little bit of recycling !

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my second project for the April Challenge that is "Pimp it up". I decided on using a piece of a card board box to make a tag.

After I cut the tag (Using a knife and a hole punch) I stripped off some of the paper so the corrugation became visible. I filmed everything after that.
I hope you'll visit my blog HERE or you can hop over straight to YouTube HERE

Why not play along with us ! You might just win a voucher for the shop !

Thank you for stopping by today ! I'll be back soon !
