October Challenge - All Things Spooky

Welcome everyone to our new challenge for October with the title
ALL THINGS SPOOKY
chosen by the lovely Corrie

Welcome to this month's challenge of "All things spooky" ! I chose the theme this month and I hope you all come and play along with us. I made a not so spooky art journal page with Morticia and Gomez who are having a meaningful conversation ! lol I love the Addams Family films and thought they would be the perfect subject for this challenge. Please find all the details and a photo tutorial on my blog HERE. I will be back on the 3rd of October with more inspiration and a YouTube tutorial.

No ghosts, no cats, no crows here just a bit of ectoplasme on the side... You'll find all the details for this spooky make here on my blog.

Although Halloween is not my favourite, I had much fun creating these little set of funny skeleton ATCs. The little rubber figures are from a dollar store and had the perfect size for ATCs. If you want to take a closer look, please visit my blog, you are welcome!

Hello everyone, you have all heard of a white wedding! Well here's my Spooks Wedding! I really had fun making this, don't you think they look dapper in their wedding attire? A mixed media A5 card to tempt you to play along. Check out all the layers  in this card with a visit to my blog

I love to make Halloween projects and had great fun with coloured fluid acrylic paints and stencils on this canvas board. Thanks Corrie for the perfect October theme and no doubt we'll be seeing lots more spooky creations over the month. I for one am really looking forward to seeing your makes.

It's that time of the year when things start to go bump in the night...yes Halloween is just around the corner. For our "All things spooky" challenge this month I have made tags which I will use for my family token Halloween gifts. This is my first one.
BOO!

I hope you are not afraid of spiders! I had great fun putting this together and if you would like to see how I made it do pop over to my blog here where a spooky  warm welcome awaits you.

Tim Holtz Halloween Blueprint and Wilted Violet Distress Ink Card
It's all Tim Holtz for me today with Blueprint Halloween stamps, Shattered layering stencil and lots of Wilted Violet Distress Ink. Do hop over to Addicted to Art if you would like to see more details

I am always inspired by the Mail Art I see on Pinterest so I thought I would make my own Halloween Mail Art! It was great fun diving into my stash for Halloween and Correspondence stamps and then melting wax for the dripping blood! Do join me over on my blog if you would like to see more.

Halloween means you can dust off greens and purples and your spooky stamps and get creative... well, that's my excuse anyway! Lots of PaperArtsy and Dylusions products were employed making this journal page! Gabrielle x

If you remember for my 1st card I made a master board and used half of it to create a card for a man.  My card today card shows what I did with the other piece.
I made a travel inspired card for a lady.

Enjoy the Journey

My second project this month uses a stamp I've never inked before (I was stunned I'd never used it!) which is the fabulous skyline stamp. The rest have been very much used before! The background is made using PaperArtsy's Infusions. I've been using them a lot recently!
Thank you, as always, for popping by

A splash of paint and some stamping

For my second 'Travel' themed creation this month I have been playing with Dylusions paints - creating washes and letting the paint do the work! I added some addtional stencilling and stamping and added one of the images from Tim Holtz Sideshow.

August Winner, Top Three & DTMSM

Hello everybody!  It's time to announce the August winners of our Challenge, Top Three and Design Team Member Special Mention.  Are you sitting comfortably?  Then let's begin!

___________________________

First of all, the winner of the £20 Country View Crafts voucher, selected by Random Generator from the challenge entries is...

Congratulations, Elly!  Your winner's badge and voucher will be on their way to you shortly, and we hope you'll join us a Guest Designer here at Country View Challenges in the future.

Now it's time for Jane to share her top picks with you.  As always you made it very difficult to choose from so many amazing entries, but here they are in no particular order.

Wow I really had my work cut out when choosing the Top 3 and DTSM for the Hot Summer days challenge I hosted in August. I visited every single entry and where it was possible I left a comment. It is the first time I have ever hosted a challenge and it was wonderful to see everyone's interpretation of my theme. I got down to a top 8 and sadly I had to cut it in 2 which was so difficult. Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter such wonderful work, there is so much talent out there.

So without further delay here my Top 3 entries;

#9 Sew Paper paint;

This beautiful bee card made by Autumn has so much texture. It was like looking at a real piece of honeycomb and the wonderful bee was just buzzing with details.

#11 by Lou Simms

This beautifully stamped set of postcards really appealed to me...perfect for a hot summer day. Lou's clever water colouring really set off the wonderful seaside stamps she used.

#16 Pushing the right buttons.

I have a "thing" about seahorses so when I saw Jenny's stunning canvas my heart melted. Her composition for this piece is wonderful  and the background is just like a sunny beach.

My DTSM
My choice for this award goes to #27 by Sandma.

I love everything about this card. It is beautifully designed, perfectly stamped with a lovely sentiment too. The background also has such a pretty shell stamped border. It was the perfect scene to illustrate a hot summer's day, made specially for our August challenge and most worthy of this award.

Fantastic work all around!  Congratulations - your badges will be on their way soon, and we hope you'll display them with pride.

Travel #2 for the current challenge

Hi it's Brenda here following up my first project for the new travel challenge by completing a couple of pages in my travel journal that I first showed on my blog here and on the Country View Project blog here.

The arty page uses a photo I took and altered in Photoshop Elements and some Tim Holtz dies and DecoArt media paints. If you would like to see the mixed media style background process steps and more photos please join me on Bumblebees and Butterflies, I would love to see you.

I hope your week is going well.

hugs Brenda xxx
