The Inspired by Tim Holtz theme was a crowd pleaser amongst the afficionados of all things Distressed and it was hard to choose just 3 of the best....
Christine (a.k.a Craftyfield) gave up and chose a top 4, on account that Tim Holtz would tell you to break the rules (that could be just be her excuse...) and it just wasn't possible to leave one of these brilliant makes behind...  In no particular order:

2 - Butterfly

Christine said: Hats off to Alison who had me at the Verdigris effect on the metal embellishments, and produced a tag full of interest, showing off her new Distress Oxides backgrounds.

44 - Sewpaperpaint

Christine said: Autumn made this journal page with lots of layers in a beautifully Vintage colour scheme. Don't you love these Paper Dolls from Tim's latest collection?

59 - Paperplay

Christine said: Carol created her own Paper Dolls by fussy cutting the Stampers Anonymous image (kudos, fussy cutting is my pet hate!) to create this wonderfully "Tim" tag. I love the colour contrast between the foreground and the black and white image.

63 - Julia Aston

Christine said: I can tell from Julia's blog she is a big fan of the man and even met him! She used lots of supplies for her tag including the new Distress Oxides and the iconic Umbrella man... I think Tim would be proud, don't you agree?

And finally, Christine choice for the Design Team Member's Special Mention goes to:
31 - Two Mad Dahlias

Christine said: Jess started making a tag and ended up with a piece of theatre... She put the brothers on stage, surrounded by suitably inked, distressed and generally "aged", papers and embellishments. Aptly named Beautiful Relic, methinks...

WOW Fantastic work all around!  Congratulations - your badges will be on their way soon, and we hope you'll display them with pride.

And don't forget there is still lots of time to enter our April Challenge - Rust

April 2017 - Rust

Welcome everyone to our April Challenge.
Our theme this month is "Rust", chosen by the lovely Evelyn

Hello and happy April!
This month it´s my turn to host the new challenge here at Country View Challenges and I decided to choose the theme: RUST.

If you want to know, how I created my forgotten door, please visit my blog! I´ll show you some ways to get things rusty. Come back the next days, I´ll show you some more ways, so stay tuned!

What a great challenge, this really made me think. Then it made me clear out 'that' drawer to find the rusting powder, and then 'that' cupboard to find the white vinegar!
For more details and pictures (not of the drawer and cupboard, no one needs to see these) please visit my blog at Sue The Iron.

Rust, and its copper equivalent Verdigris, are my favourite weathered effects. It immediately gives a Vintage look to your creations and I was inspired to make a foray in the Steampunk area with this canvas. Come and see how I made this on my blog.

I am in a phase of mixing rusty elements with lighter and/or brighter colours and I am also experimenting with abstract art, so I have mixed it all up for this challenge. As always more details and photos can be see over at Bumblebees and Butterflies, but the warmer weather is definitely on it's way and inspiring my creations.

For my rust project this month I have created a tag using new Distress and Tim Holtz products.  My rusty birdcage has been created using paint.

Pop over to my blog to see how I created this tag.

For my first Rust project this month I covered a mdf plaque with Fresco paints and Copper Treasure Gold. To find out how I made it, please pop over to my blog. Gabrielle x

I had so much fun making this piece - I do hope you can join in with our rust challenge - I think you'll have fun too! You can find more details at my blog here.

For our April challenge I have brought you here a Rusty Time Box which can actually indicate the time. If you would like to know how I put this together, please visit my blog.

A very happy 1st April to you all...there will be no catching me out today on April's Fools' day because it's also my birthday..yes honestly. I will be catching up with all the family later and enjoy a meal out and cake (of course). Our theme for April is rust and I must admit I did struggle a little with this at first. However I eventually decided on a "rust" coloured and textured female greeting card. I made rusted butterflies and used lots of other textures and colours. If you would like to see some more step by step details do pop over to my blog here where a  slice of birthday cake  very warm welcome awaits you.

Bye for now,

Jane  x

Well done Evelyn for choosing the topic of RUST! Love it! Here is a taster of my contribution to the team effort. It's over on my blog if you are curious!

Having fun with the new Tim Holtz Oxides.

With apologies, some of you have already seen this post but it published at the wrong time - probably my fault lol. Thank you to those who have already left comments and here it is again in it's correct slot.

Hi it's Brenda here today to share a little playtime I had recently using the new Distress Oxides from Tim Holtz. I haven't completed a project as I spent time playing with a palette of three colours, spritzing, dipping and drying many layers to create these fabulous backgrounds.

If you would like to see more then pop over to Bumblebees and Butterflies and also keep a watch out on the project blog over the next couple of weeks where I will be showing how I used these two pieces in a project.

Don't forget to take a look at the Challenge Blog to see the challenge details 'Inspired by Tim Holtz' and all the fabulous entries we already have. (You'll find the link on the sidebar).
