Mixed Media Circles

Hi crafters, Craftyfield here for another Circles themed project.

I let myself have fun with this Mixed Media make and I didn't follow a plan. This is usually followed by disaster but thankfully not on this occasion... Do come and see how I did it, here on my blog, and I promise, none of my circles are vicious!

Hello everybody! We're delighted to welcome Akshma from Akshma Creations as our guest this month.  Akshma won our Spring challenge in April and today she's here with her take on this month's Circle theme.  You're going to love what she's created, so without more ado, let's hand over to her...

Hi,

About Me: I am Atchaya and well known as Akshma in my craft circle as my craft creation name is Akshma Creations. I started Crafting a year ago. .I started off with Quilling and into proper card making 9 months ago. This is my first time guest designing. I am feeling so excited and honoured. Thanks for this opportunity. This is my blog. You can view my works here: http://kraft ycraze.blogspot.in/ and on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/akshmacreations/.

I made a Circular easel come side step love themed card for the theme playing with circles..I made a circular easel set up and made a side step card with White CS.Decoupaged it with  Indian made bob n betty pattern papers. Distressed the edges with Abandoned coral Distress inks. Added couple die cut and a circular love you die cut elements. Embellished the bottom with tiny mulberry roses. For the side steps I fuzzy cut the glittered foam hearts and adhered to the steps. The special thing is I added my own digital embellishments of 2 ribbons in the front top portion and the base of easel card one. In that ribbons too I designed a circle and semi circle  and made as a ribbon design. I took the print out and fuzzy cut it and then added as embellishments. That's all about my card. Hope you like it.

What a gorgeous creation, Akshma!  Thanks so much for joining us this month as our guest.
If you'd like to see more of this lovely project, do visit Akshma at Akshma Creations for all the details.

You still have time to enter our Have Fun With Circles challenge.  The usual £20 voucher is on offer for the winner of the challenge, and the possibility of a Guest Design spot here at Country View Challenges, See you there!

Through the eye of the lens .....

Hi Brenda here with a very different piece where I have actually painted as well as created a very unusual piece of art.

This was created with three wooden boards with different sized circles cut out of them (I picked these up from the Ally Pally show some time ago). I had the idea of creating a camera lens effect with an eye peering through it. So if you want to see how it was made please pop over to Bumblebees and Butterflies for a closer look.

Have a fun and creative week and don't forget the Circles challenge is still on till the end of the month.

hugs Brenda xxx

Now it's time for Evelyn to share her top picks with you.  As always you made it very difficult to choose from so many amazing entries, but here they are in no particular order.

Evelyn said: A very artsy piece with beautiful colours and embellishing! I loved the two different ways of crackles, great take of the challenge.

Evelyn said: gorgeous makeover of an old crate, it´s now a real treasure! The crackles, peeking through the layered napkin on the panels are gorgeous.

Evelyn said: This tag is one of even three entries from Sara Emily, all three caught my  attention. This one is really delicious in colors and embellishing, the sparely use of crackle matches perfect. Oh, and I love the tiny pearls!

______________________________________________________________

And now for the Design Team Member's Special Mention, Evelyn has chosen.

Evelyn said: Alice used crackle medium for the very first time on this piece! I remember my first time of using crackle medium and how exciting it was. Alice, your premiere is very nicely done, please go on using crackles!

Fantastic work all around!  Congratulations - your badges will be on their way soon, and we hope you'll display them with pride.

Still going round in circles......

Hello it's Jane from Jane's Journal here today with my 2nd inspiration piece for our current "have fun with circles" challenge. I have my "cute" hat on for this month's challenge. For my first piece last Friday I shared a baby boy card and as promised here is the baby girl version.

I used lots of circles and if you want to see just how many and how I created my card pop on over to my blog here where a warm welcome awaits you.
I hope you will all join in with our challenge this month...it's great fun and you can use just one circle or as many as you can...I'm still going round in circles after all this...time to lie down before I get dizzy...LOL ;0)

Bye for now,

Double 003.5

This theme of circles this month was perfect for me! I stamped a random assortment of Emma Godfrey’s circles as a background because I’d enjoyed the simple effect I’d created last time but then had the (possibly bonkers) idea of adding this little chap in one and suddenly he reminded me of  the title sequence of 007 films and knowing he was a little chap I’d need two of them to make a full 007! Sometimes I really amuse myself when I’m creating journal pages so I hope this amused you! As always there is more on my blog. Gabrielle x

July Challenge - Have Fun With Circles

Welcome everyone to our July Challenge

This months theme was chosen by Hazel so let's all Have Fun With Circles

Hi there, Hazel here, kicking off this month's topic which I have had the privilege of choosing. Fun With Circles!
Love them, satisfying, enduring, versatile, just fun! I hope that you will join in with us this month. I have used circles of paint and stamping on top. To explore the details, please hop over to my blog.

For our July Challenge I have created a birthday card with circles. If you want to know more about this card, please visit my blog! Thank you and happy crafting!!!

The new theme at Country View Crafts Challenges this month was perfect for me! Circles – I love them! They are ideal as a frame for an image or to contain a sentiment or to add a little movement to backgrounds. For my first piece this month I wanted to practice the clean and simple backgrounds many of you do that I so admire. I used stamped circles (from Emma Godfrey) as my background in my journal and as a frame for my sentiment. Su (the name for my phrenology head) is doing a good job keeping her crown of greenery on! As always there is more on my blog. Gabrielle x

Hello everyone,
Corrie here with the first of two inspiration pieces for Hazel's fun 'circles' challenge. I hope you play along with us.
This is a little art journal page with lots of circles... if you want to know how I made this then hop over to my blog HERE
I'll be back later in the month !

I have created a textured canvas today using texture paste and Deco Art paint. This was definitely one of those projects where I started with no fixed plan and just enjoyed the journey. More details over at Addicted to Art today.

Jane

Welcome to July when summer will soon be in full swing. I decided to let my cute style out to play this month for Hazel's "have fun with  circles" challenge......I used lots and lots and if you want to see exactly how many pop on over to my blog here where I will reveal all.

Sue
Living up to my 'last minute Sue' tag I've made a birthday, and a Father's Day card. One has gone in the post on the way to the airport, and the other has gone in my suitcase. I'm really enjoying using my Distress Paints, I think the Distress Crayons have given them a new lease of life. For more details wing you way over to my blog, and have a fun week.

My card box seems a bit depleted at the moment so I thought it was time to start adding some more back in. Having come across a Prima paper pack recently on one of my shelves I decided to use these clocks from it for my circles and used a mop up tag to mount them on. I really must use patterned papers more often to get some cards done for special occasions throughout the year

I have had fun playing with painty circles in my make for this months challenge - I have a step by step on my blog here if you would like to see how I made my card.
