A last summer post card

Hello everyone, it's Jane here. September is coming to a close and the nights are really drawing in now that autumn is here.  I am back to share a final piece of inspiration for the current challenge of Travel.
If you remember for my 1st card I made a master board and used half of it to create a card for a man.  My card today card shows what I did with the other piece.
I made a travel inspired card for a lady.
If you would like to see how this came together do pop over to my blog here where a warm welcome awaits you. There are only 2 more days left to join in the fun and have the chance to win that  brilliant £20 voucher from Country View Crafts. Don't miss out!

Bye for now,

Jane x

Enjoy the Journey

My second project this month uses a stamp I've never inked before (I was stunned I'd never used it!) which is the fabulous skyline stamp. The rest have been very much used before! The background is made using PaperArtsy's Infusions. I've been using them a lot recently!
Thank you, as always, for popping by

A splash of paint and some stamping

For my second 'Travel' themed creation this month I have been playing with Dylusions paints - creating washes and letting the paint do the work! I added some addtional stencilling and stamping and added one of the images from Tim Holtz Sideshow.

August Winner, Top Three & DTMSM

Hello everybody!  It's time to announce the August winners of our Challenge, Top Three and Design Team Member Special Mention.  Are you sitting comfortably?  Then let's begin!

___________________________

First of all, the winner of the £20 Country View Crafts voucher, selected by Random Generator from the challenge entries is...

Congratulations, Elly!  Your winner's badge and voucher will be on their way to you shortly, and we hope you'll join us a Guest Designer here at Country View Challenges in the future.

Now it's time for Jane to share her top picks with you.  As always you made it very difficult to choose from so many amazing entries, but here they are in no particular order.

Wow I really had my work cut out when choosing the Top 3 and DTSM for the Hot Summer days challenge I hosted in August. I visited every single entry and where it was possible I left a comment. It is the first time I have ever hosted a challenge and it was wonderful to see everyone's interpretation of my theme. I got down to a top 8 and sadly I had to cut it in 2 which was so difficult. Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter such wonderful work, there is so much talent out there.

So without further delay here my Top 3 entries;

#9 Sew Paper paint;

This beautiful bee card made by Autumn has so much texture. It was like looking at a real piece of honeycomb and the wonderful bee was just buzzing with details.

#11 by Lou Simms

This beautifully stamped set of postcards really appealed to me...perfect for a hot summer day. Lou's clever water colouring really set off the wonderful seaside stamps she used.

#16 Pushing the right buttons.

I have a "thing" about seahorses so when I saw Jenny's stunning canvas my heart melted. Her composition for this piece is wonderful  and the background is just like a sunny beach.

My DTSM
My choice for this award goes to #27 by Sandma.

I love everything about this card. It is beautifully designed, perfectly stamped with a lovely sentiment too. The background also has such a pretty shell stamped border. It was the perfect scene to illustrate a hot summer's day, made specially for our August challenge and most worthy of this award.

Fantastic work all around!  Congratulations - your badges will be on their way soon, and we hope you'll display them with pride.

Travel #2 for the current challenge

Hi it's Brenda here following up my first project for the new travel challenge by completing a couple of pages in my travel journal that I first showed on my blog here and on the Country View Project blog here.

The arty page uses a photo I took and altered in Photoshop Elements and some Tim Holtz dies and DecoArt media paints. If you would like to see the mixed media style background process steps and more photos please join me on Bumblebees and Butterflies, I would love to see you.

I hope your week is going well.

Travel the World

Hello Everyone! Jennie, your host for this month's challenge, back with the
second of my travel projects.

Our eldest son left home 19 years ago this month to join the Merchant Navy and so I had him in mind when I created this tag. I hunted out words, stamps and stencils which (I hope) sum up a life at sea as a young Cadet.

Do please join me on my blog if you would like to see more details.

As ever, thank you for joining us here at Country View Challenges today and I do hope you are enjoying this months theme and will find time to join us through the month with your own travel projects.

September Challenge - Travel

Welcome everyone to our new challenge for September with the title
TRAVEL
chosen by the lovely Jennie

Whenever we come home from holidays in Europe we always seem to have spare Euros but we can never find them the following year as they are in various handbags, wallets and purses around the house. So for my first project for this challenge I decided to alter a small box with DecoArt crackle and paints to keep the money safe. There are lots more details on my blog so do hop on over if you would like to see more.

Hello dear crafters, here's my quick card I have made when we just returned from our holiday, in the very last moment before the deadline :-) Travelling has important role in families' life: being together and collecting sweet memories. The family on my card just do the same. On my blog you can find the supply list.

Ooops! My project just got too big... Never mind I will let you see part 1 today and keep the rest of this Travel book under wrap until my return on the 21st of September. Do come and see on my blog how I made this mini book from a single 12x12" sheet of cardstock!

I interpreted the travel theme very loosely here. If you are interested in how I made this postcard there is a tutorial on YouTube included on my blog HERE.

When I was young, I loved to travel by motorbike. When I thought about the challenge theme, I remembered these "wild and free" days. To see some more pictures and read how I made it, feel free to visit my blog!

Sue

This month for our travel theme I'm celebrating the Great British postcard. Fun to receive, but oh the nightmare of knowing what to write! I'm also using a very old stamp sheet, something that I should do more often! More details can be found here on my blog. Have a great week and see you later in the month for my second piece x.

This card started life as a journal page that I decided to turn into a card. The background consists of texture paste, PaperArtsy Fresco paints and stamping. More details and pics over at Addicted to Art.

Gosh, doesn't time fly....September already and memories of heady summer days. Here is my journal page based around this months' Travel Theme.
You can see more over on my blog.

Happy September everyone, we're racing through the year now. This month Jennie has given us the theme of travel. I decided to make vintage travel inspired male and female cards.  For my first DT piece today I am sharing the male version. I have used a camera stamp and created a stamped map  .....both essential for any kind of travel!
If you would like to see how I created the master board map and put this together please pop over to my blog here where a warm welcome awaits you.

Rachel
Hello there! The wonderful theme of travel - so many possibilities and I came up with a simple journal page that you can see on my blog here. I hope you can join us! Hugs rachel x

I loved the idea of the theme of travel which is really open to interpretation and decided to do something a little different first and think about travel as a personal journey and this page was born! Lots of Tim Holtz stamps came together to make this. The background is Beach Hut PaperArtsy paint and water sprayed on the background.

Well it's that time of the year when our thoughts turn to the memories of our summer holidays or where we might like to go for some winter sun or maybe you know someone who is off on a world tour, backpacking or maybe even emigrating. For me I chose to make a card that could be sent to someone who is off on their travels for whatever reason. Tim's globe seemed very fitting and I do like it. If you would like to see the process steps I went through to make it then click my name above and you will be transported over to Bumblebees and Butterflies.

**************

Wow these are beautiful projects from our Design Team. So it's over to you now, create your project and link it below with the chance to win a £20 voucher to use on the Country View Crafts website.

Thanks to everyone who took up the challenge last month. There are some gorgeous entries and the winner will be announced soon.
