Good morning faithful followers!
It's the end of an era... Country View Crafts has been running a monthly challenge for over 10 years and in that time we had 125 challenges, 1500 posts, 24 DT members, 6000 comments, over 800 blogger followers (more by email or RSS feeds) and a staggering 1.75 million views. A record we can be proud of!
But, over the years, we have seen the popularity of Facebook, Instagram and other social media increase at the detriment of blogs.
It is difficult to know how many crafters still enjoyed our blog as few people commented on our posts. When we asked our followers to "let us know your thoughts about our posts, challenges, changes you would like to see" in our last challenge post only 4 people replied and we have come to the conclusion that we need to move with the times and jump on the social media bandwagon.
Country View Crafts has a brand new Facebook page where the challenge will be hosted from now on. Once logged in Facebook, joining the group is easy, just click on this link, then the "Join Group" button and reply to the questions shown to prove you are real crafters.
Sorry to read this! Loved 'playing' here every time and no won't go to FB; on FB I am about 1 year back with showing what I made... and I hate FB!!!
ReplyDeleteWe do understand... FB and blog are so different! However, if you only visit our group for the challenges, it won't be too hard to link up. Why not give it a try at least once Gerrina? x
DeleteI am grateful for your awesome challenges and glad they are continuing. I think social media is killing interaction with people unwilling to do more than click a button. Blogger commenting is also causing some problems. Luckily I can still comment here bwahhahahaahahaa. I see the new fb group is hopping with enthusiasm and I hope you get lots of entries. Thanks for Country View for being such a fab sponsor. Hugz
ReplyDeleteSocial media is so quick and there is SO much thrown at you! But we just could not fight that wave... so we joined it! Thanks for your continued support, Gail! x
DeleteI'm sorry to hear this, but it's good that you are continuing the challenges somewhere. I think FB has ruined the internet though lol.
ReplyDeleteYes, FB has a lot to answer for...
DeleteSo sorry to read this, but understand why you have made this decision. I've enjoyed joining in the challenges for the last few years and wish you well moving the challenges to Facebook. Off to have a look at the Facebook group now.....
ReplyDeleteHappy you have found us on FB Liz!
DeleteSuch a shame, I suspect a lot like me didn’t comment because we liked it the way it was :) I understand, but on Facebook I struggle to see what I want, like finding a needle in a haystack 😂. Good luck though xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, trying to search in FB isn't easy or user friendly at all.. Blogs are easier to search through and can also be accessible via Google (or other search engine).
DeleteHowever, within a group, posts and searches are much more manageable. Hope you will try to join us Lesley!
Joined the facebook group - but I do prefer challenges on these blogs instead :(
